About Us

Gérard Stokkink is founder of and senior lecturer at Netherlands Expertise Center for Body Language.   After studies psychology and cultural anthropology Gérard worked in the music business and studied non verbal communication in England, Canada and France.  He graduated in body language in Paris (2005) and specialized in the intercultural differences of body language.

 

Gérard introduced the empirical study body language in 2011 as a minor at University, Amsterdam HvA (SPH/ MWD) where he, given the short time of the yearly trimesters, focused on the basic elements given by researchers in the field of non-verbal communication.

 

In 2016 Gérard founded the Dutch Expertise Center where he could share the full  (18-30 months) study. These last years Gerard switched from classroom education to online webinars. The webinars allow students to repeat, practise and integrate the courses and improve their skills in the field. Today Gérard is also frequent (online) speaker at government organizations, universities and juridical institutions.

 Structuring the complexity of non-verbal responses, the new empirical knowledge can be implemented immediately.  The transparancy and the high quality of the multi-disciplinary concepts allow fast intake and understanding of the handed educational material and accreditation by professional organisations.

 

ELN is is recognised by the Swiss Association of Specialists in Non-Verbal Communication, the international quality register for specialists which guarantees the accreditation including further training of specialists in the Netherlands.  To become a certified specialist participants must pass one final exam and submit a personal research paper.
